Welcome to RelaxiFI’s documentation!
RelaxiFI is an open-source python3 package designed to model the stretching of CO2-dominated fluid inclusions by stress-relaxation dislocation creep, it is based on the model and parameters described by Wanamaker and Evans (1989). Currently, RelaxiFI is not equipped to model stretching in minerals other than olivine, sorry!

Modelling FI stretching during ascent
- First, let’s install RelaxiFI (only need to run this once)
- Next import the package
- Example, Fig 8 from Wanamaker and Evans 1989
- We can also model the stretching of an FI at constant external Pressure (i.e., during storage or quenching)
- Example, Fig 3 from Wanamaker and Evans 1989
- We can then build custom system models as we want
